Train Information System (TIS) Workshop for Railway Undertakings (RUs)

In order to promote the use of the EU and RNE IT tools by its Stakeholders, RFC Atlantic organized the first Train Information System (TIS) workshop for some members of its Railway Undertakings Group (RAG)

On the 14th of September 2020, the RFC Atlantic Management Board organized a workshop for a small group of RUs, at their rest after a short introduction to TIS functionalities in the 18th TAG-RAG meeting in March 2020. Following the EU designs for process harmonization and digitization of the Railway market, the RFC Atlantic retained the support of RNE in order to make this RU request come to fruition.

Consequently a RU tailor made workshop was prepared by RNE and the attending RUs were able to:

• have a full scope of the TIS functionalities available for the RUs; 
• understand the potential contributions of the tool for their business; 
• watch and develop some exercised in TIS environment; and
• clarify eventual questions regarding the application.

As a result, all attending RUs (Medway and Takargo) have started the TIS registration process with RNE and are expected to start using the tool as soon as signing TIS User Agreement with RNE (beginning of 2021).

After the success of the first workshop RFC Atlantic is expected to organise other workshops for other RUs, not only about TIS but also about other European IT tools.
