According to a RailNetEurope (RNE) General Assembly (GA) decision on the 6th of December 2017 the Infrastructure Managers (IMs) agreed to ensure at least one English speaking dispatcher per national Traffic Control Center, in every shift until 2020.
Following the above mentioned RNE GA decision, starting in 2019 the RFC Atlantic promoted and financed by means of EU funding (Program Support Action), the training and certification in English, of the operational staff in the respective Traffic Control Centers.
The courses were supposed to be concluded by the end of 2020, however due to COVID-19 distancing measures, some in person classes had to be postponed for 2021.
The positive results of the English training, were in display during the International Contingency Management simulations organized by the RFC Atlantic, with the participation of operational staff from the 4 IMs.
